Answer: New and prospective officials will need to register with the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association (OSSAA). Their address is 7300 Broadway Extension, Oklahoma City, OK 73116. After submitting the appropriate registration fees, you will be assigned a state ID number and receive a rule book, case book and officials manual for the specific sport for which are registering. The registration costs are $60 for the first sport and $15 for each additional sport. There is a $5 late fee if you do not register with the time frame established by the OSSAA.
FAQ # 2 How do I become a member of a local association?
Answer: The Oklahoma City Metro Officials Association conducts rules and mechanics meetings for football, basketball and baseball. Local membership fees are $25 per year for one or all three sports. Local meetings are held on Wednesday evenings beginning at 6:30. Specific meeting locations will be announced for each sport.
FAQ # 3 What does my $25 local membership fee cover?
Answer: All paid members will have their local meeting attendance submitted to the OSSAA office. The $20 membership fee is used for mailings, postage, printing of Association rosters, videos and education materials from Referee Magazine and NASO. The annual BBQ and business meeting is held each year in May and the membership fees are used to also pay for the costs of the food and building rental.

Answer: Varsity games are assigned by a group of Conference Commissioners who are selected by the conference to hire their officials. The major group of conferences in the OKC area includes the Mid State Conference, Metro Conference, All City Conference and the Suburban Conference. Junior High and little league games are assigned by several different veteran members of the Association.

Answer: The Referee’s Call is a local and nationally recognized retail distributor for officials uniforms and equipment. Special packages are available for the new official.
